what they SAID…
The departure.LOUNGE pop-up studio experience allowed me to work collaboratively with fellow participants and other recent graduates in a live studio environment. We were delivered a real brief, with a real client, and a real deadline - something most of us had never faced before. This was both exciting, and daunting; but with an enthusiastic team to work with, and solid support and guidance - we were able to create something really special.—CJ
I had the opportunity to collaborate on some amazing projects at departure.LOUNGE; I’ve gained a huge amount of confidence in my creative processes and abilities.

If you're an aspiring designer keen to couple your skills with some real work experience and some great networking opportunities to help kick start your career, then I highly recommend tapping into what the departure.LOUNGE has to offer.
I found this space under the guidance of the mentors] who have a wealth of knowledge in the design world, to be of great benefit in finding my feet and confidence as well as the opportunity to collaborate with other aspiring designers. Honing in on the technical skills with the adobe software had been an area of weakness for me prior to getting involved with the studio, however I walked away feeling far more competent. I really learned a lot from the studio and the other designers about creative processes which I have adopted and apply to how I think about creative solutions now.
The chance to work with other designers was invaluable and I feel so much more confident in my own skills now and how to come together and apply those skills in a team environment. It's so important to get used to working with a creative team to prepare for finding a job in the industry, so the departure.LOUNGE was great practise for this, and making some new friends was another bonus!
